Apple set to unveil its new iPhones and Apple Watches

At a press conference beginning at 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday in Cupertino, California, Apple is expected to introduce the new iPhone 14.

It is Apple’s largest annual event. Sales for its most crucial quarter of the year, which includes the holiday shopping season, will be boosted by the items it introduces. For instance, during the quarter last year, iPhone revenue increased 9% to $71.63 billion.

Apple will also discuss its new Apple Watches, and rumours claim that the AirPods Pro will finally receive an upgrade.

Four new iPhone models are anticipated from Apple. In addition to the iPhone 14, an iPhone 14 Max would be the first non-Pro model with Apple’s biggest display.

New features including an always-on display, enhanced cameras, and a new A16 CPU may also be included in the two iPhone 14 Pro variants. These improvements may help enhance the camera, graphics quality, and battery life. The recognisable “notch” is anticipated to be replaced with a new pill-shaped cutout for the front-facing camera and Face ID.

The smaller, entry-level iPhone 14 Pro should cost at least $1,099, and the bigger model should cost about $1,199, according to analysts who predict Apple will raise the costs of the Pro models by $100.

The Apple Watch Series 8 will replace the Apple Watch Series 7 that was released last year. According to Bloomberg, the main new component is a body temperature sensor, which may be useful for measuring fertility.

However, Bloomberg reported that the upcoming Apple Watch Pro would have an even larger screen, a more robust and chunkier design, and will be marketed at athletes like hikers and marathon runners. This model may be more intriguing.

That implies that it is going for fitness watches made by Garmin, which are favoured among outdoor enthusiasts and have battery lives of a few weeks to a month or so. According to Bloomberg, the watch may possibly be composed of titanium, a material that has only hitherto been used in the more expensive Apple Watch Edition versions.

On the weekend, Bloomberg reported that Apple would introduce the updated AirPods Pro 2 on that day.

Prior to the holiday shopping season, a new model is essential. The company’s other goods category, which includes Apple Watch and AirPods, increased 13% over the prior year during the Christmas period.

A new MagSafe cover was added to the AirPods Pro in 2018, but this new version would be the first significant change since 2019. Although it’s unknown what type of adjustments would be made, a new model may enhance the microphones, audio quality, and noise cancellation.

It’s conceivable that Apple may also reveal a subscription service for its iPhones. It now allows you to purchase an iPhone through its Upgrade Program. After a year, you ship it back in exchange for the new model after paying a monthly cost.

Additionally, it offers Apple One plans, which combine services like iCloud storage, Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Fitness+, and more into a monthly individual or family package.

However, Bloomberg reported in March that Apple has thought about providing a monthly subscription iPhone plan that would allow you to update whenever new models are released rather than having to pay for an upgrade over the course of a full year. According to Bloomberg, some of the Apple One ambitions might be included.
